main jet possibly restricted
if not crank seals!
crank seals are easy to replace dont
be afraid! get the whole gasket set from
www.winderosa.com or dennis kirk
the biggest deal is gettin the flywheel
off get your self a cheap steerinwheel
puller and the 5 or 6mm bolts. use a engraver
and make reprences on the stator plate and
inside the gear box and govoner assembly.
its been 29 years to the day since i rode a
kittty cat 4 my 1st time when dad bought my
sister and me our 77 and i just cant get enough
of them since! my daughter and son both have cats
and i still ride with them!
im not no Bill Tripp but i got a good idea of whats up with
these sleds

Bob:

The quickest way to check if the seals are bad is to start the engine. Get it running at an even RPM. Carefully spray a mist of starting fluid toward the seals on both sides of the engine (DO NOT SPRAY AROUND ANY SPARKS). If the engine RPMs increase, your seals are leaking.

As for a complete gasket and seal kit, I have them in stock for $35.
