Key Question in 99 Kitty Cat

Post by spotsalot »

We are buying a 99 kitty cat and were told it doesn't have a key. So, just want to double check with some folks here that may know more about this model. The guy told us you didn't need a key for it, that it is more ornamental than anything. Is this true? Thanks a bunch in advance!
Thanks!

I'm fairly certain a key is required. You can find one here for $4.79: http://www.brownsleisureworld.com/

Look through the on-line parts fiche, select the year, kitty cat, and go to the "steering, front frame, and console" section, reference number is #19, part number is 0116-065.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I will be ordering that key. Strange thing though....it started right up for us with no key. we didn't put our son on it yet, but gave it some gas and it actually took off quite a bit faster than we have seen others. wonder if they took off the governor?
Thanks!
