1977 magneto

Just picked up a 77 from a buddy of mine. It had been sitting for quite some time and he didn't know what was wrong with it. Was hoping to get away with a carb clean, fresh gas, and a plug. Not the case. No spark, coil is good though!
I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on pulling the rotor off to get to the magneto assembly. I was thinking about using a harmonic balancer but need to find longer bolts if I'm going to attempt it. Little wary because the bolts are so small.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
Also there is a screw on the rotor. Looks like there might be a magnet inside? Don't know haven't got it off yet. What's the proper way to getting the correct gap between them?
