Chain tenisoner spring preload

Post by snowworks »

I have an early Kitty 72. Was apart when I got it. I bought a new chain puck and spring. There is a hole for the mounting of them. But what I want to know is how is the spring preloaded?? The sled was repaired in that area and I see no hole or bolt that the leg of the spring would sit on to give pressure to the puck. Would the pin for the spring be straight down from where the pivot point is?? I really need a pic of the chain tensioner area. I also think where the pivot point is, the hole that is there I will get a 1/4 inch clevis pin of the proper length and weld it in, then slide the spring and puck on it, secure it with a hair pin. But where does the other end of the spring go?? Thanks Brian
