hard starting kitty

Post by brad6 »

I'm having trouble starting my 92 kitty. If i pour gas in cylinder she'll fire up and run, but only with choke on. I have cleaned and replaced most parts in the carb as well as both crank seals. Any thoughts let me know.

I thought I had an issue and it turned out I was turning on the choke and I thought I was turning it off. It seems to work opposite to what I would expect. I had symptoms similar to yours before I looked more closely at when the choke was on and off. Maybe you are suffering the same fate?

Made me feel pretty dumb after I figured it out. lol.

half choked

I had he same problem, thought the carb was clean, after the 2nd time removing it and spraying it with carb cleaner, I totally stipped the carb and blew out every orifice I could see with compressed air, and magically it ran. There must have been a VERY tiny blockage somewhere and the compressed air blew it out.
