Anyone have part numbers for output shaft bearings/seal?

Talk about the oldies, restore, repair, etc.

Anyone have part numbers for output shaft bearings/seal?

Post by Lightningtruck »

On my '72 Kitty, the thing got run without oil in the gear case  , so now I need the two ball bearings on the output shaft and a new seal. There is some gear and governor damage, but I think it can clean up. Hopefully. I'd buy a new output shaft and governor if I could find some.

Anyway, what I'm looking for are modern part numbers for the bearings and seals so I can go to my local parts store and get something. I can't find numbers on the old parts.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Kevin

Update.

Managed to get the mangled old bearings off, and bearings are:
NTN 6202
NTN 6203

.....both of which were available at my friendly parts store.

The seal doesn't have a number. Looking at Chicago Rawhide 6620 as the closest match, and if I turn the shaft down to 5/8" same as where the clutch rides (but not the whole way in to the bearing surface), I think I can use Chicago Rawhide 6247.

Still open to advice on the seals.

Thanks,
Kevin
