Post by ljcdad »

When i first got the 72 kitty kat. The governor held the throttle almost wide open. I reset the govenor to back off the throttle and now the sled won't start.

I have gas and spark.

any mechanical reasons to set the throttle to 3/4 open to start?

Yes, because thats how its designed to work. It should close the butterfly to the throttle stop when the engine starts running.

so it stays in the almost wide open position till the engine runs. The idle seems a bit high though. The govenor pushes the throttle back toward idle upon starting and idling? Just want to make sure i got this.

So i'll set the throttle cable on the governor the way it was and see if it'll start and what happens.

Thanks.
