5 h.p engine ok for these sleds

I have a 1973 kitty cat. I want to put a new engine in. Either a tecumpseh or honda for the reliability and parts availabilty.

My question is, is 5 h.p. ok for these sleds . I can get a really good deal on a tecumpseh 6.5hp (same dimensions as the 5 h.p. Do you think the machine will handle it My kids are 4&6 so I will be governing it down a lot.
