72 kitty cat

Post by Christian »

Hi, I just bought a 1972 kitty cat for my 5 year old. #408 off the assembly line. Is there anything I should check before letting him loose on it. It does have the kawasaki engine that is nla but it seems to run really good. Bought it off the second owner. It has been in storage for 22 years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Clean the carb. Replace the spark plug. Check the points. Lube the front spindle bushings. and remove, clean, and lube all the rear boggie wheels. Check the clutch, brake, and chain tensioner and lube the chain.

I noticed that the clutch drum moves back and forth on the shaft. Is this normal?
Thanks
