72 Kitty Cat fuel mix

Post by jw »

Just got a 72 KC with the kawasaki motor that I'm restoring (my 1st restoration project). The gas cap says to mix 25:1. All other info I can find says mix 50:1. Would this just be a replacement cap that a previous owner stuck on there or do the old KC's with the kawasaki motor want a 25:1 mix? Thanks.

You can download the owners manual here: viewtopic.php?t=295

jbb115 was kind enough to post that. It has the oil mixture, point gap and all that good stuff to keep it going.
Hope it helps.

They used to recommend 25:1 but with th newer oils they have you can run them 50:1 without a problem. I have been using synthetic oil at 50:1 for the last 4 years.. I have an old 72 with the Kawasaki motor and a newer one with a suzuki motor. both run great
