electrical problems

Post by haus »

Just picked up a 96 kitty. And the headlight and tail lights are both blown. Replaced the tail, and it blew right away. Measured the voltage and it was over 20V. Is there voltage regulator on these? Any suggestions on where to start?

Thanks

There was no voltage regulator on the stock kitty cat. You can certainly put one in, but there's not a kitty cat OEM voltage regulator to purchase. If you can't find a generic regulator, you could use the one from a 120cc arctic cat (part number: 0630-001 - $38).
