1998 KITTY

Post by tnuck »

My son took it out today and every time he stopped, we had to lift the sled hit the throttle and clean out the wet snow to make it go again. Then would run fine as usual until he stopped again. Even for like 10 seconds. Seems the snow is very wet, About 29 degrees. Seems like the wet snow is building up inside the track and making it stick. Last year we only ran it in more powder after christmas time. Anybody have this issue before? Ran perfect all last winter and runs great now, but just gets stuck-not in the snow, but on itself.

Could it be that the clutch spring is worn? Read a few posts and seems like it could be the problem. Also need to mention that last year and still this year the track spins pretty good when lifted and moves the sled when on compacted ground. But doesn't move the sled when my son is on it. Does this mean the clutch is just engaged, weak or worn. Just learning here. Not a mechanic by any means. But am willing to try. ANYBODY?
