I have a 77 Kitty that has been through MANY hands and I am haveing the "wont idle" problem. I have cleaned the carb but didnt take the throttle plate out but have noticed that it has 2 holes in it. One is for the screw to hold it to the shaft and another out towards the edge. On this carb that second hole is situated faceing down and is covered by the shaft. It would seem to me that this "should" be lined up differently. Should it be on the left, right or down?
Thanks for the help!

Part Deux!
Well, I moved the plate so the hole on the edge was on the left side of the carb (in line with the air screw) and boy did it idle! So now I am going to tey it on the other side, away from the screw, and see if I can get it to idle down a little bit.
Hope this helps someone else out there.
Later.
