Sled has new carb - but won't idle..do I need a new clutch?

Post by AJMCVAY »

I replaced the orginal carb with the mikuni carb and rebuilt the track (boggy wheels axels needed to be sanded and greased) the sled runs great.

But the sled will not idle now - I'm assuming this is because with the new carb, I've removed the governor with the old carb and with the engine revving higher the clutch is engaging on engine start up due to the fast rpms.

Anyone know of a way to turn down the mikuni carb? I have the throttle pin sunk as far into the carb as possible or should I be entertaining a clutch where I can put tighter springs on it to compensate for a missing governor and higher rpms

Please advise if you've seen this before and how it has been remidied.

I sent an email directly to John Olson to get his opinion as well (since I bought the carb from him)

I appreciate all and any input.

Thanks,

Andrew
