Low compression, crank seals

I have low compression (85) on a 1972 Kawasaki motor. It is very hard to start. I am assuming it is piston rings. I know they are hard to find.
I have also read that the crank seals tend to go bad. Can crank seals cause low compression and are they available?

yes crank seals will cause low compression. the crank seals are still avaliable. you should really check your cylinder and piston ring gap to see how worn the motor is that will determine if you will need piston and rings

compression should be over 100 psi and the lower the temp gets with low compression the harder it will be to start

What is the correct ring gap? I don't have a manual yet........Luke
