Kitty Cat No Spark?

I'll assume you have replaced the park plug and it is gapped properly. Have you tested the coil for continuity? I would start there.

There is a coil test procedure posted here

It is not for the 72 engine, but it may give you some idea on how to test the coil for shorts and continuity.
