Flushing the fuel tank

Post by snowmobilejack »

Does anyone bother flushing the fuel tank from last year's gas? Will it do any harm just to top off the tank with fresh fuel and go this year?

Flushing the fuel tank is a judgement call. If you've stored the snowmobile in an area where moisture is present, it wouldn't be a bad idea, but If the gas is only one season old it may not be necessary at all. Some people top off the tank before they store their sleds, others drain them.

Any fuel that is in the tank for more than one season I would definitely discard though.

seeing the tank is so accessible I would just pull the gas line off and drain it.
