| The "Antenna Not Detected" message on the screen of a Sirius radio is not an uncommon occurance. If you check some message boards around the internet you'll see many others have had this happen to their sattelite radios. It occurs obviously when the radio or the docking station cannot sense the antenna. Satellite radios do not function very well in parking garages, underpasses, and other situations where the antenna is obscures for the sky. They really don't work at all without the sattelite antenna attached. The Antenna Not Detected message could be linked to a faulty docking station. This seems to be one of the more common sources of trouble. Sirius acknowledges this and will make good with a new radio if it is still under warranty. I had my suspicions and decided to purchase a new antenna before sending my product back to Sirius. My hunch paid off. I took the time to check my antenna and make sure it was plugged in, I also inspected the wire everywhere I could see it exposed. I found no problems but I decided anyway to purchase another antenna and give it a try. It turned out to be the fastest and easiest method of getting my radio back up and rocking. |
